How do you recognize evil?

Maybe a better question is how do you recognize psychosis that leads to evil behavior?

I suppose if it were easy, there would be no criminals because we could recognize them as such & stop them from creating the turmoil and pain that results from their crimes.

There are those who call themselves “profilers” and books are everywhere on the topic of the criminal mind. But for those of us who lead boring, law abiding, and “good” lives – we seem to be ill-equipped to see the really bad in others.

Sometimes the psychopath is charming, attractive, intelligent and humorous. And so we are caught off guard. (See Bundy, Ted)

I met a psychopath once. I didn’t recognize it at first but once I did, it chilled me to the bone and truly frightened me. I found out today that a child was victimized by this person.

I started Eddie’s Road to try to keep this type of thing from happening or at the very least, from being repeated through the cycle of abuse. This poor child will have these scars forever and who knows what path will be taken as a result.

Children are ours to protect. Why do so many choose to take their innocence and prey on their vulnerability? It is pure evil.
