Today Eddie would have been 48 years old.
The week between his death & his memorial in Atlanta was a flurry of activity all done in a haze of disbelief and grief.
One item on the list was a video that hopefully captured the life of this man. Not an easy task when someone lives as full a life as Eddie managed. I enlisted the help of the daughter of my great friend, Kathy. Not only was Jennifer able to capture his spirit but as I view this video today, I am struck at how she matched photos with just the right verse of the songs.
I don't watch this video very often because of the emotions it stirs up. But as I watched it this morning I found myself smiling and laughing. He still makes me smile and laugh. Isn't that wonderful?
Someone like Eddie may only come around once in a lifetime. For those of you who knew him, congratulations on being able to enjoy his gifts. For those of you who never got to meet him, I hope there is someone in your life who has the ability to make you smile and laugh. Someone who is able to stir up your emotions. Someone who challenges you and inspires you.
Happy Birthday to all of us for the wonderful gifts he gave.
