This gorgeous girl is Bella.
She probably has the best dog life in the world. Bella lives at Atlantis Resort overlooking the Bohol Sea just outside of Dumaguete City, Philippines.
She stays busy patrolling the beach, greeting the guests, and overseeing the workers who are fixing damage from a recent typhoon.
The Atlantis has been our home for 2 days while we work here in Dumaguete. It is my second visit here in less than a year. The last time I famously consumed a balut because I am somewhat childish when it comes to a dare. No worries, like most things that seem extreme - it didn't hurt, make me sick or kill me.
On my last visit we didn't spend the night. We just made a day trip from Manila. I was thrilled when I found out I would get to spend more time here. This is the view from my room. Yes, that is my own personal hammock.
It is rustic and low key. My shower this morning was brief due to the almost cold water (the water is solar heated and it was overcast today so I am sure I'm in for another cold one tomorrow). They have unreliable wireless Internet. Luckily, the best coverage is in the bar/restaurant which sits right on the beach, open-air, covered in a wonderful thatched roof.
Yes. It is paradise as we all imagine it. Well, maybe not all, but it is, for sure, my version of it.
So, I sit facing the sea, drinking a cold San Miguel, typing away while the Internet signal is still available.
Oh, hell. Who needs the Internet or even a hot shower? Perhaps I can just cash out the 401k and hang out with Bella a while longer.
I think she and Jake would get along beautifully.
