Almost left Eddie at the James River but I really knew where I wanted to take him.
The bridge north of Niobrara (Chief Standing Bear Memorial Bridge) was dedicated to Charles D. Adler who died during its construction. As the memorial site states Charles "Loved the Open Road and Motorcycles" (see atttached photo).
I think that Charles would be especially pleased to have someone of similar values to use his bridge for another adventure.
Eddie departed at 2:10 PM, June 18th, 2010 for the Gulf of Mexico by way of the Missouri River (2:10 in the year 2010 at the MNK 2010) something going on here.
Note from Lurleen: During our short time as residents of Niobrara we checked out the real estate since the ultimate plan was to live there for at least 5 years. We looked at a beautiful piece of land right next to where this monument is. It was a bluff on the South Dakota side looking down on the Missouri River & Niobrara. Unfortunately, you couldn't build on it. I think Eddie wanted to buy it anyway. I miss that place.
